CHALLENGE

Increase Holiday sales

Increase sales in a competitive industry. We were  competing with physical stores like Barnes & Noble at the worst time of the year. The strategy strived for a streamline experience, set up a winter ambiance, and create a cozy, "bookstore" feeling.

SOLUTION

Winter ambiance with motion

Create a style guide to have consistency cross site, and attract  non-readers. The creative illustrations and cinemagraphs invite the non-readers while entertaining the book-lovers. Both snow and blue colors were used to provide the cozy feeling while highlighting books of the month.

RESULTS

More than 10% increase in sales

CTR was up over 15%, immediately demonstrating the success the style guide produced. The project generated the lucrative competition desired, increasing overall sales by more than 10% during the Holiday Season.

The cinemagraphs were at the top of the page inviting customers to come in and suggesting the main books of the month/week/day. It was an innovative way to attract non-readers and book-lovers at the same time.
